If I were a Protestant trying to prove sola Scriptura, and there was a verse
that said "the Bible is the pillar and bulwark of the truth," I would be
proclaiming that verse from the roof tops. At the same time, if I were a
Protestant, I would have to ignore 1 Timothy 3:15 to continue my protest of the
Catholic faith.

But it does prove sola scriptura. The authority of God is limited to what the Word of God reveals, as the foundation of the faith of Christ.

Having that particular faith (Christ's) that alone comes from hearing God in respect to liars only shows you are looking to give the father of lies a platform and a voice that in the end of the matter makes the commandments written with in the book of the law to no effect, but Christians are aware of that wile of the devil, Had2.

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.Mar 7:9
