It was one of the best places I've ever been. The ranches are beautiful, each with a large gate onto the main highway. The small towns are historical. A lot of the old western type buildings are still there. The people are down to earth and friendly.

We visited the LBJ Ranch. That was an astounding experience. Everything is exactly the way it was in 1963. The Johnson family cemetary is there, with LBJ and Lady Bird's grave stones. I was moved to tears when I was at the grave, as I was a teenager at the height of the Vietnam War when he was President. I learned a lot about LBJ the man.
