I'm not an LBJ fan either, in fact I hated him when he was President.  Over the years I've learned more about him.  Still not a fan, but I appreciate the grieving he went through over the war.  He really did try to end the war in his last term, then when Nixon took office, LBJ asked Nixon to give him a phone call when a settlement to end the war was reached.  That didn't happen until 1973.  A few days after he finally got the call from Nixon about the war agreement, he died. 

I was at JFK's assasination site 3 years ago.  For some reason it didn't hit me emotionally like the LBJ Ranch, but it was interesting.
