Midgie asked..Has somebody here  said the blood of bulls and goats take away sins? If not, then what is your  point of quoting that passage of Scripture to us?

Whether the metaphors used are the blood of bulls, goats, and lambs used in a parables to take away sins ,or bread and blood of grapes the principle is the same. They point to the one that did, but of themselves confer no effectual grace, like the flesh they profit nothing.

May I ask what  you think the purpose of Baptism was for?

John 3:25
Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
Rom 3:3

I believe, the foundation and root of Baptism is after an old testament ceremonial law, as a purifying rite . It was applied to a new priest by a Levi before entering his priestly duties. John the baptist being of the family of Levi baptized Christ to show Christ's submissiveness according to that law before He was sent out in the desert for forty days to be tested by God at the beginning of His ministry. That ceremonial law using the temporal as that seen in lieu of the elements of this world, (H20) like all ceremonial laws are used as types or shadows pointing to the eternal as that not seen. They like the blood of goats lambs and bulls in effect do not confer grace, even though they are required.
