Catholics are a lot more tolerant of heretics and schismatics today than the Early Church was!
Yes, in both the first century reformation and the fifthteenth century reformation the Word of God, as it is written, took away the false authority of the "law of the fathers"(ecf's) as them killing the what they thought was the competition, because they must walk by sight.
It, the law of the fathers (sola ecclesia) has been reformed by the same spirit of faith according as it is written (sola scriptura) the one exclusive reforming agent, as the sole authority of God, which is after no daysman, as an infallible interpreter (Pope). Those as clearly seen by the scriptures as those who sought after men's "sacred approval" by walking by sight… called venerating the highly venerable ones under the "law of the fathers"(efc's) tried to prove that Paul who now after his conversion from the Pharisees sect who then had become a Bishop (ring leader) of the Nazarene denomination was a heretic, because he was falsely accused of spreading damnable heresies that they thought denied true Christ. But we know the results of those who call sola scriptura, (believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:) a heresy .
Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: Acts 24:13-14
Why could those who were following the after the “law of the fathers”(efc’s) were not in the end of the matter able to prove sola scriptura( believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets)was a heresy?
Was it because sola ecclesia (we are the visible church) was not as high as an authority as they hoped it was and therefore sola scriptura made the law of the fathers, to no effect during both of those reformations? Because some men realized they were fighting against God by refusing to heaven unto His word as the final authority?
