A few years ago I had the opportunity to talk with the Polish leader Lech Walesa, who I asked what was the most decisive event in his years long struggle that culminated with the fall of communism, his response was immediate and very precise: The visit and the message of John Paul II to Poland.

Unlike Lech Walesa, I have a feeling Mr. Mendoza refused to hear what the Pope has probably already told him.....NO VIOLENCE!!!! Like an insolent child, he obviously had to learn the hard way as he now watches the death toll rise. I'm sure the Pope is praying and working hard in the background to quell this violence before it escalates further out of control. Venezuela is blessed to have Pope Francis as Pope as Poland was blessed to have St. John Paul II. "The prayers of a righteous man availeth much."

God bless you

'Before offering Himself up as a spotless victim upon the altar, Christ prayed to His Father for all who believe in Him: "that they all may be one; even as thou, Father, art in Me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, so that the world may believe that thou has sent Me".'
