Kim, I'm excited that you are moving here. I think that the Northwest is the most beautiful area of the country. As far as the Seattle Archdiocese - well, we are in liberal and polically correct Seattle, so our Archbishop has to tread lightly. He is a good and faithful shepherd to his people, although I wish he would be more outspoken in the cause of the Faith. What I mean by that is to be more vocal in the media and the public arena. He did strongly speak out against gay marriage, so I'll give him credit for that. We also have auxilary Bishops who are good men. I don't know a lot about the parishes in our diocese. I know mine of course. There is another in Seattle called Holy Family that has a wonderful pastor, Fr. Bloom. I saw Fr. Corapi speak there a couple of times.

One thing about being a Catholic in the Seattle area is that we are definitely a minority. There is not a Catholic culture here in any way. However, we are called to be the light and salt of the earth. Do not be afraid! God will be with you no matter where you go.

Please get in touch with me if you have any questions.
