I thought everyone here maintained you don't worship Mary? Why are you concerned that the bible talks about those who make cakes, pour out drink offerings
and burn incense to a queen of heaven? Last I heard none of those things are taught by the RCC.

We aren't worried about it Lens Blur because we understand the context of the Jerimiah:

Jeremias 44
25 Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel, saying: You and your wives have spoken with your mouth, and fulfilled with your hands, saying: Let us perform our vows which we have made, to offer sacrifice to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her: you have fulfilled your vows, and have performed them indeed.

Jerimiah was speaking of actual offerings made to a queen of heaven that was non-existant. One only worships the one true God. The honor we bestow on Mary, who is the actual queen of Heaven in the Jewish understanding of a queen mother, is never worshipped or treated as a goddess. It is the wacky Fundamentalists who continually bring up their lack of understanding of scripture and the context of verses that they continually use as proof texts for something completely different than the Bible as a whole spells out. None of the Marian doctrines contradict Scripture and actually are no different than what Scripture teaches.

God bless you,
