Hi Jasvon,

"Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine." ~ 1 Tim 5:17

Catholics honor our Popes as the Scriptures teach us to!!
I have no problem with giving men a little weight (honor) when studying scripture to show our approval to God but to give weight(honor) to a opinion, as infallible ..that is worship, nothing more and nothing less.

Having respect unto Paul as the work of Christ's faith ........in them is not the double honor scripture is refering to .The Bareans as we know honored Paul and received from Paul with all readiness of mind to search the scripture as the highest posible authority to see if those things were of God (comparing the spiritual to the spiritual) and not just Paul's opinion of ,comaparing the spiritual words of Christ to the spiritual words of Christ, they understood perfectly what it meant to be taught of God.

Act 17:13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

Others who were given the knowlede that God had moved Paul to speak Christ's infallible living word.,their lack of respect for the word of God showed ,in the fact , they honored men who follow men as a higher authority above what is written and attempted to kill the prophet of God that brought the word of God.But thats the nature of all reformations.

Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
