We got rid of most of our Comcast service last fall.  We were paying close to $200/mo for phone, internet, and cable TV.  Hubby and I seldom watch TV and we all have cell phones.  I had originally called Comcast to get rid of the house phone ($60/mo) and the premium channels.  I figured I'd be down to about $120/mo with those changes.  Nope.  Getting rid of the phone meant no more bundle, so the prices for the other stuff went up.  We finally decided to go with the most basic of basic packages for TV and kept the high speed internet.  Phones are gone.  We now pay $60/mo for both.  The kids weren't too happy with losing the sports on TV but c'est la vie.  My oldest son was planning to move out after the holidays anyway and my daughter doesn't watch TV much, either.  Younger sonny boy isn't home much and watches sports at a friend's house if he really wants to see a game.

Hubby and I aren't fans of Verizon, but my sister is happy with their bundled service.  I prefer playing on Facebook and the boards, but my true passion is reading.  The only TV I make a point of watching is the local news in the morning and House on Monday nights.
