6-8 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced.
2 cups of heavy cream
1 clove garlic
Grated parmesan cheese
Pinch of nutmeg (if you can grate it fresh, even better)
Heat cream on the stove. Add nutmeg, white pepper. Grate garlic clove into the mixture.
Butter a large, glass baking dish
Layer 1/3 of potatoes in the dish.
Season with salt and more white pepper.
Add 1/3 of cream mixture
Spinkle on parmesan cheese.
Repeat this 2 more times until all ingredients are used.
Baked at 325 for 1 hour.
Raise the temp to 400 degrees for 15 minutes (this will insure the top is browned).
Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes.
