It has been a while since I posted here and anywhere else for that matter other than a certain Marvel board. Things have been insane at work, which is strange considering my company has announced that they are going to shut down the plant I work at in a few years. If anything, you would think that work would start to lighten up a bit. But to the contrary...
Anyway, why has Marvel had my attention? Well, if you haven't seen Thor The Dark World, I strongly recommend that you do so. The movie picks up where The Avengers ended. Some critics had some trouble with the plot, saying it was too confusing. I guess these critics must have been liberals, because the movie plot was clear and sound, the story rock solid, and the action was top notch.
The story of Thor and Loki is a major subplot as Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are great in their respective roles. The movie is self-contained, but does set the table for probably Avengers 3 (note that Avengers 2 isn't on the big screen until May 2015) and definitely Thor 3 (sometime in late 2015 or 2016).
Overall, I scored the movie an A- (an 8.5 or 9 out of 10) as I was expecting something a bit different. But the movie delivered on all cylinders. The Avengers saved New York City. Thor saved the Nine Realms. Enough said...
The week before I finally saw Iron Man 3, which was better than I was led to believe. Though not as solid as Thor The Dark World, the movie also hit the mark. Some of the humor was forced. Also, there were too many... Well, I guess you have to see the movie. I scored this movie a B- (a 7.5 or 8 out of 10). I recommend this movie as well, just not as strongly as I recommend Thor The Dark World.
Avengers 2 is titled 'The Age Of Ultron'. I think a better title that has a true threat to the world should be 'The Age Of Obama'.
Another move that I saw late last year was The Hobbit. A very quick moving movie, I actually enjoyed this movie when I first saw it in the theater. I saw it in a theater in Franklin, Tennessee. That probably was the main reason I enjoyed the movie as much as I did. I saw it again on blu-ray and truly was disappointed. Usually, it is the other way around. Not a bad movie, just not a good movie. I probably will see the sequel, as it really can't be any worse... At least I hope not. I score this one a C or 6.5 or 7 out of 10.
Again, I hope everyone is doing well.
