Many Americans, according to national polls, are worried about the direction of our country and its leadership. They feel we have abandoned our freedoms to a bloated government that is putting our children on the road to economic ruin. We are seeing our basic values attacked and rejected by our national leaders with the blessing and assistance of the judicial system. Who would have dreamed of marriage between two people of the same sex in our Judeo-Christian society? Who would have seen our great nation allowing partial birth abortion and abortion on demand? We have aborted 55 million babies since Roe/Wade. We have seen the relentless attack on Christianity and our Judeo-Christian roots — the Nativity scene, the Ten Commandments, prayer in schools, and religious liberty in the Catholic Church denied, to name just a few.
As we study the history of Socialist/Communist countries we see an alarming trend. When Socialism/Communism took over Russia and China, and Socialism in Germany, we saw the attack by their totalitarian government upon Christians and Jewish believers. Those evil empires knew that in order to take over a country, its religion and morality must be weakened or destroyed so that its people have no will to resist tyranny and oppression.
Hegel, Marx and Lenin said there is no God. There are no moral absolutes, no right or wrong. This philosophy brought into being Socialism/Communism that caused the suffering and death of millions of innocent believers and non-believers.
Many look at our 17 trillion dollars of national debt and say we have an economic problem. We daily borrow money from Socialist/Marxist China to pay our bills. Is this the America our forefathers and the greatest generation fought, bled and died for? Are we far behind Greece, France and other socialist countries who are in serious economic trouble? Many of our Democratic, liberal states are on the verge of bankruptcy. New York and New Jersey are Numbers 1 and 2 in collecting taxes from those who work hard every day. “Inequality and redistribution of wealth” are Socialist terms used to help destroy an economy.
Like Socialist Western Europe, our churches are empty and our families are in serious trouble. Catholic-France, once the citadel of Christianity, now has a president who has left his wife, and his old mistress for a new mistress. Our young people worship at the altar of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
We have a moral problem. We should heed the words of Solzhenitsyn and our founding fathers who warned about big government. The Grammy Awards showed us clearly the growing degeneracy in our country. John Adams said, “Statesmen may plan and speculate liberty, but it is religion and morality alone upon which freedom can securely stand.” William Penn wrote, “Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants.” Thomas Jefferson wrote, “We did produce a near-perfect republic, but will they keep it or, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom?”
Next November, Americans will go to the polls to vote on what type of government we want. Will it be for a free-market, limited government or will we continue on the road to less freedom and serfdom? May our grandchildren one day say of us, they did all they could to preserve our freedoms and restore us to a moral nation.
