Vandal caught on camera knocking over statues, paintings at Los Angeles church
Statues of the Virgin Mary and St. Patrick clattered to the floor as a vandal unleashed his fury on St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Hollywood. The Los Angeles Archdiocese is still calculating how much the attack will cost the church.
This crook was Hell-bent on wreaking havoc.
Cops are on the hunt for an unidentified man who knocked down sacred statues and paintings at the altar of a Los Angeles church.

Four statues, including those of the Virgin Mary and St. Patrick, were knocked down in the vandalism spree at St. Patrick's Church in the North Hollywood section of Los Angeles.
The trouble starts slowly, as he casually knocks over a light. The man then tries to open the tabernacle to disturb the communion wafers. When that fails, he shoves over four statues, tears down a painting and cracks vases
He even resorts to chucking debris at the altar.

Los Angeles Archdiocese spokeswoman Monica Valencia told The News that the chapel was kept open late that night so that devout parishioners could come in to say their prayers. She pointed out the “nonchalant, lethargic manner” in which the crime was committed.

“This is obviously someone who is very angry and possibly under the influence,” Valencia told The News.
Officials are still calculating how much the attack could cost the church. But the emotional toll is already apparent.

“This is an important part of the community, it’s a place where people know they can go to pray,” Valencia said.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is located at 6153 Cahuenga Boulevard in North Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The chapel remains closed and investigators are considering it a crime scene.
The LAPD has only a few details about the culprit. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. He appeared to be unshaven.
The archdiocese is asking the crook to come forward.
“We are a very forgiving community and we want to come together and create a loving, peaceful, sacred atmosphere here,” Valencia said.
