I am going to try to get an answer to this question. I'm not optimisitc since no one seemed to be able to answer my question about the cost of the war and
the cost of universal healthcare. Here goes....
The cost of gas is inching toward $4.00 a gallon. That being the case, how will levying new taxes against oil companies bring the cost of gas down when we all know any new tax will simply get passed on to consumers? When the cost of gas goes up, the price of all consumble goods goes up in response. It costs money to get lettuce from California to other states and towns in this country. Isn't it the poor who will suffer the most when prices of everything begin to inch up due to energy costs?
BTW, the federal government already makes more on every gallon of gas sold that any of the oil companies.
