Thistle-down
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:17-18
Paul, if you have the Gift of Healing and the sick always recover when you lay hands on them, then please come to the Children's Hospital in Boston, or to a children's hospital in your own area and lay your hands on every child you can. Just walk through the hospital where you'll see some of the most heart breaking sights imaginable. I well know the Scripture you quoted as you do, Paul. As I mentioned here before, I've received some of the most wonderful answers to my prayers when I'm in dire situations and pray for others, yet not in every day situations. If it was ALWAYS, I would go into these hospitals and lay my hands on every child I could. Why only sometimes and not always? I don't know. Is every single person you lay your hands on healed? If so, then why aren't you out there using your gift to help everyone you can, most especially the innocent children? God bless you

Should I assume if he is not healed by you laying hands on him that you are not doing all Jesus commanded of you?
Believed on YOU or believed on Jesus Christ?
My son was born the way he is, too, and is not "sick" but has brain damage.
And you're quick to find a verse to justify blaming people for their own troubles,
but when I raised the issue of the martyrs you were then quick to do a 180.
Paul, there are thousands and thousands of children in the world today being diagnosed with autism. I'm thankful my son is not near as bad as some of these children are and that he is high functioning, but to think my Lord, Who is LOVE, MERCY, and FORGIVENESS has stricken these innocent children because of someone elses sin doesn't compute with me. Granted, they may be suffering because of the sin of greedy men if it is proven it's the mercury in the vaccines the pharmaceutical companies use that cause it, but men have done it, not God.
They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions. Hosea 5:7

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. John 11:22 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Thy judgments. Revelation 16:7

Let me ask you, do you think God (the Life) mercilessly punishes "innocent" children? Or lets them suffer?
Jesus sends to you those He wants healed, and you will know which ones they are. He'll tell you.
If you can't do healing, then you have not your power from Jesus, and you are not doing all He commanded. Are you.

I know, we could even have restored Kev's missing leg, if his faith were not also missing.

I do not believe, Paul, that the Lord punishes "innocent" children, but desires them to come to Him.
"But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto Me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matt 19:14 "But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." ~ Mark 10:14 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." ~ Luke 18:16
Stop being double minded, Paul, and choose which it is: Jesus sends to you those He wants healed, and you will know which ones they are. He'll tell you. If you can't do healing, then you have not your power from Jesus, and you are not doing all He commanded. Are you.
Paul, that's a terrible thing to do to someone to make them feel that they are not healed because they don't have the faith to be healed.
St. Paul was given a thorn in the flesh to keep him humble and from thinking more highly of himself than he ought, but I doubt there's many today who have the level of faith that he possessed. People were healed simply by touching the handkerchiefs he had touched, yet he could not get healing himself. Things are not always as cut and dry as you try to make them. I hate seeing what people like Benny Hinn do to people by making them think they'll only be healed if they just have enough faith. Like I said, I don't know why some are healed and some are not, but never would I think it's because those who don't get healed is due to them not having enough faith. Sheesh, we've had Saints in the Church who suffered terrible illnesses, but they did so all to the Glory of God. They didn't have children, though, which I think makes it harder to not want to be healed to finish the job God has given us to do.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8 ~ For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: I can of Mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and My judgment is just; because I seek not Mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent Me. John 5:22 & 30

Comingfrom, this is camabeach's thread, one we should be using for encouragement and everything for her... you've turned it into your babbling goofiness.
I suppose you would strewn the same garbage in people I've known in person that had to deal with things... 3 never having walked a day in their life... and another who walks w/ much struggle but is a friend of mine in present day... and you want to tell me you could heal them... yeah I believe in miracles. Vision in two eyes again is a miracle to me but I don't see you as showing me anything of Jesus.
Do unto others as I would have them do unto me.
____ I have seen other people receive nothing short of what they would call a miracle in their lives... like the man from my old AoG days who got a rare form of Lou Gerig's disease, so rare it only lasts up to a year... he's a bus driver. I dont' know if he'll ever go back to driving bus but saw him when he was in a wheelchair and pretty down about it then to walking with braces & then a cane... shoot, I only had my what... 10 day bout of using a cane while getting over my OD of steroids... he felt blessed because it was going to leave him. Just like my fears of going blind left me. Could I ever have problems again, sure I'm sure I could but I know where I've been.
Give up the pride, attitude, and whatever else is in your life right now.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Proverbs 28:5

PEACE OF HEART Almighty and Eternal God, Give me, I beseech You, the great gift of inward peace. Command the winds and storms of my unruly passions. Subdue, by Your grace, my proneness to love created things too much. Give me a love of suffering for Your sake. make me forbearing and kind to others, that I may avoid quarrels and contentions. And teach me constantly to seek after and to acquire that perfect resignation to Your Holy Will which alone brings interior peace. Amen.
